The Best Job in the World: My Application.
Duration 0:59
Here it is! Queensland Tourism accepted and posted my video. That means I'm in the running against 34,000 other people. Wow. What are the next steps? They will be narrowing the field down to the top 50 applicants. Then on March 2nd they will announce the shortlist. (Agnes' birthday is March 3rd. That'd be a sweet birthday gift, eh?)

Queensland Tourism will select 10 finalists, and open up voting for 1 wild card finalist as chosen by the world. So for now, it's a waiting game. Will I make the top 50 from 34,000? Visit soon to find out.
Laos.
Duration 4:55
When you take public transit in Laos, you travel with the public. And in Laos, the public generally travel with dead fish, live chickens, or 25kg bags of rice. Luckily though, there's no such thing as being 'at capacity' on a bus in Laos. You just use the roof. Or stand on that rickety little ladder on the side of the bus. Or share your seat with a goat. Whatever.
India.
Duration 2:05
Imagine a park large enough to hold a soccer field. Now take five medium sized phone books and put them under a lawn mower. Collect all the pieces and distribute them randomly through the park. Add in 150 people sitting on the grass. All the men are wearing grey dress pants and sandals. Every single one of them over the age of 15 is sporting a moustache. The women are wearing vibrant coloured saris. About 40 people are playing cricket. The park is bordered on one side by a large man-made pond full of not-so-clean water, and a number of people lathering themselves up. Another side is bordered by the outside edge of a market. From where you stand you can see sandals, umbrellas, glittering material, and school supplied. On the remaining sides add buses and taxis as far as the eye can see in either direction. Pack them in so tightly that you can't tell if there are 4 or 5 lanes. Fill in all the space between vehicles with man-powered rickshaws, motorbikes and various farm animals. Everything is honking and it's 37 degrees outside. Welcome to India.
Mexico.
Duration 1:04
I visited Mexico for the first time in 2008. The trip included scuba diving in an underwater system of caves (known locally as Cenotes), a snorkeling trip in the Cozumel area, visiting Mayan ruins, and driving an old 'convertible' VW bug to the colonial town of Merida.
